workshops
Matt offers workshops on poetry-writing, fiction-writing, and puppetry. Puppetry workshops offer students the chance to create and manipulate their own shadow puppets, and can accommodate up to 30 students at one time. Poetry-writing workshops guide students through the process of drafting their own free-verse poem. At the end, students see their poems come to life as they're read aloud by the shadow puppet beatnik, Bongoman. Fiction-writing workshops help students develop a story with a vivid character and a compelling conflict. Workshops can be offered to up to 70 students at one time, and can be included as part of artist residencies.
